Lebanon's economic collapse has pushed the cost of basic groceries beyond what most families can afford. A food box — rice, pasta, milk, tuna, beans, oil, and other essentials, enough for a family of four for one month — now costs $850. For families already in poverty, that number is simply impossible without support.

Before Lebanon's currency collapsed, medication for chronic conditions — diabetes, hypertension, heart disease — was affordable. Today, with the Lebanese pound having lost over 95% of its value, the same medication costs a minimum of $400 a month, when it's available at all. For many, going without isn't a choice. It's a forced reality.

As Lebanon's crisis deepened, school fees became one of the first things families stopped being able to afford. With over 500,000 school-aged children at risk of dropping out before the latest escalation, education has become a privilege rather than a right. One year of school costs $3,000 — $250 a month.
